Bat Mitzvah Ceremony and Party Photography

"Meg is an absolute angel and I was so lucky to stumble upon her. When I looked at her previous work, I knew she was talented. I hired her to take the photos for my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah ceremony and party, even though she had never attended a Bat Mitzvah. Needless to say, I was blown away by her willingness to be extremely accommodating, her more than reasonable prices, her calm and kind demeanor, her responsiveness and most importantly, the incredible photos she took. Within a week after the event, she sent me all the photos in digital form and even spent significant time touching them up. I have received so many comments about how incredibly beautiful the photos are. Not only did sure take all the formula photos I requested, but she managed to capture all the important moments in a candid, natural and special way. She has a way of capturing the feeling of an event and honing in on the most important subjects and moments. I can’t thank Meg enough for the passion and hard work she put into our event. Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center
The ceremony was hosted at the beautiful Synagogue, The Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center in Altadena, California. Photography is generally not allowed during the official ceremony of a Bar/Bat Mitzvah. However, there is usually an exception made for the rehearsal. In this particular case, and with thanks to PJTC, I had the privilege of capturing some beautiful moments at the run through of the lovely Juliet's bat mitzvah ceremony, including some very special photos of the reading of the Torah and carrying the tallit - some of the most precious moments of any Bar or Bat Mitzvah. After the ceremony we were then able to take more family photos in and around the center with Juliet's nearest and dearest.
The University Club of Pasadena
On the Saturday after the rehearsal I met the family and their guests at The University Club of Pasadena. The University Club has been around since 1922 and serves as a historical academic and social hub, as well as being a stunning event venue in the heart of Pasadena. We got some more beautiful group photos of Juliet and her family outdoors in a classic So-Cal setting, before we headed indoors for cocktail hour, speeches, a dad & daughter dance, and of course the Hora.
This was my first time doing Bat Mitzvah Photography and it was so special from start to finish. I am so grateful for the wonderful opportunity and I can't wait for the next one!
